• Download: I got cake-1.2.5
• Unpack: in the directory above public_html –> …/cake_1.2.5/
• cp -r app myapp
• cd myapp
• chmod -R +rw tmp # maybe ugo+rw
• change salt in config/ore.php
• cp database.php.default database.php # edit details
• create database
• cd …/public_html; ln -s ../cake_1.2.5/myapp mycake

App should be available at http://my.site.tld/mycake/index.php
